My interpreting services

for companies

For internationally operating companies inviting parties to their meetings who do not speak the language of negotiation. This also includes liaison and dialogue interpreting or accompanying interpretation as well as negotiation interpreting.

Depending on the size of the group, the use of a whispering system for simultaneous whispering interpretation or a special note-taking technique for consecutive interpretation is recommended.

Please feel free to contact me to determine the type of meeting and the target language. Find out more about me and my qualifications in my profiles on

After successfully completing my part-time studies at Hamburg University followed by the swearing-in act by the Hamburg Ministry of the Interior, I am now authorized to interpret for civil and penal cases before the courts as well as for notaries (notarial deeds) or for administrative authorities. My very first assignment as a sworn Interpreter concerned a name change in a registry office.

You may also find me listed as a sworn interpreter and translator for the French the language on the national website for sworn translators and interpreters:

Overview of interpreting techniques

The following techniques are generally used:

Simultaneous interpreting

Spontaneous "on the spot" interpretation – probably the best-known form of interpretation, as frequently seen in the news, e.g. in the European Parliament. It is often used for conferences, group work sessions or training courses. The interpreter translates at the same time as the speaker delivers the speech, often from a booth.

Consecutive interpreting

In this setting, shorter contributions are interpreted consecutively, i.e. paragraph by paragraph or statement by statement; according to the respective meeting with or without the help of a particular note-taking technique. Likewise used for conferences and group work or training sessions. The interpreter - might - take notes while the orator makes his or her statement, and then renders what has been said (while the speaker takes a break).

Dialogue interpreting

This form of consecutive technique is particularly suitable for table talks, interviews, trainings, negotiations and technical discussions. Depending on the meeting situation, simultaneous interpreting is also used in some instances. The interpreter enables a conversation between two people by either whispering the interpretation simultaneously into the ear (whispering Interpretation) or by interpreting in a normal sound level.

Sight translation

For example, during notarial appointments to interpret official documents before they are signed. In this case, the interpreter reads the text from the sheet in the source language but reproduces it directly in the target language.

My personal favorites are simultaneous interpretation and dialogue interpretation.
